On October 11th Ali Kamal and I, Tom Young, visited the Casino de Montreal. We have been going there for about 10 years and usually pool our resources. I choose in most instances not to use my casino card unless there are extra rewards for doing it because their rewards are usually cheap. Ali usually puts his in as he enjoys the 2 cents they give you for every 100.00 you play.On this particular evening the machines favored the house. We were out about 150.00 a piece when our fortunes changed or so we thought. We hit for 600.00 on the 5.00 Top Dollar Slot and continued on to the 1.00 Top Dollar Machine just outside the High Roller Room. We hit for 1000.00 and continued on. Ali went to the $1.00 Wheel of Fortune and I went to the 1.00 Pinball. Ali yelled out to me and everyone was giving him high 5's in the area. He hit the 5x Red 7 5x pay. In laymans terms that is 3000.00. I rushed over and we both awiated the attendant. She came and reset the machine and went to leave. After protesting she explained it was a malfunction and called her Supervisor. To our dismay and after a lot of loud protesting by us and everyone else in the area the Casino suits stuck to their malfunction jargon. Let me say no where in the area or in the Casino as of that night is there any written explanation of what a malfunction is, how it occurs and what the different codes mean. This is why it is bogus. We have argued this to death and have been dealing with a Slot Manager that keeps reiterating that same bogus b.s.While The Casino de Montreal refuses to change their position and the Casino Manager refuses to come out from under his desk where he is hiding my only choice now is to continue to urge anyone that is thinking of going to this Den of Thieves to consider your options.I have spoken to 2 other Slot Managers as I having worked i the industry have friends and they both have assured me that while malfunctions occur after explaining that most Casino's to preserve the integrity of the game would pay on the outcome. Please join our protest and send back your cards and go to other Casino's until this establishment comes off its high horse and recognizes that players have rights. If we had done something to cause the machine to malfunction then I could accept their decision.
