What can I say, Nick & Sam's Uptown Steakhuse is The Best Steak I Have EVER EATEN! My boss has been trying to get me to take my wife to eat at Nick & Sam’s for the past couple of years. He knew that we liked to venture out to new restaurants on occasions. He was constantly raving over this place. Come to find out, one of his good friends is part owner in the place. I gave in to his request and decided to take my wife to eat there. Now, in no way is my wife a steak person so I was thinking to myself this is going to be a stretch and this is going to be more for me than her. I am a true steak guy!We arrived to this swank Dallas uptown location. There were some really expensive cars parked in the front of the restaurant. We pulled up to the valet stand, they were very quick to run to my wife’s door and open it up for her. Good start, they pay attention to the clientele coming in no matter what kind of car they are driving. We walked in to the maître d', gave our name and we were instantly seated! She Another thumbs up, we didn’t have to wait to be seated for our reservations. She walked us into a very dark, romantic room where our table was. Who would ever say romantic and steak go hand and hand, but is working for Nick & Sam’s. The maître d' was very courteous and polite. She told us our waiters name (Sarah) and that she would be with us shortly. Sarah soon arrived to great us, she was very well spoken and very polite. The amount of training the wait staff has to go through is incredible. Sarah start if we would like some recommendations for appetizers, she suggested the Crispy Fried Calamari & the Jumbo Lump Crab Cakes, both were incredible, I mean almost to die for. If this is any indication of what their food was going to be like, my wallet is going to be hurting from going here all the time. We as I suspected, the main course was just as good. They have some the best age steak that I have ever tasted. I had the 16oz Prime Aged Rib Eye, the steak was cooked perfectly, I didn’t even have to use a steak knife to cut it, fork only. My wife got the 10oz Filet Mignon, which was pretty fantastic as well. However, t he best was the sides. Every week my wife wants me to figure out how to make their side dishes. We had their to die for Cream Corn, Nick & Sam’ Mac’n’Cheese (which has lobster in it), and the Garlic Mash Potatoes. Yes we finished all off! I don’t know how we did it, we even decided to have desert. I had their Crème Brulee and my wife had their Pecan Fudge Brownie Sundae. We could not even finish these, thought I was going to be rolled out. While we eating dinner, we keep noticing the extremely big guys walking around. The Cowboy's defense was there (most dressed like hood rats, with their faces glued to their cell phones!). We asked our server what they were doing and she told us it's a tradition that the rookies pay for the defense team before the season starts every year - last years bill was $19K! Their steak alone is $500 each, they all eat the Kobe steak! So if you are ever in Dallas and you are in the mood for steak, this is your place. You will not be disappointed. If you come before the start of football season, you might just see the Dallas Cowboy’s defense there.
