We wanted to take our 7 year old son and 5 year old daughter to Storyland this summer. My parents had taken me when I was a kid and I loved it. I wanted to share that experience with my wife and kids. It had been 15 years since I had been to Jackson and I was unsure as to where we should stay, eat and what to do in the area besides Storyland. I did a search for Storyland and came up with the Lodge at Jackson Village. I checked tripadvisor and saw that it was the number rated hotel in New Hampshire. I read many of the reviews and was very impressed. I called and talked to Christopher (One of the owners sons and part owner) and he helped us plan the perfect vacation for us. He suggested that we check in at 3PM, unpack, and head to Storyland as if we arrived after 3PM they'd give us free tickets for the next day. This way we get a day and a half for the price of one! He also gave us directions to avoid the heavy North Conway delays (Which can be up to an hour long!).After Storyland we headed back to the Lodge and played in the pool, sand box and swing set. We then headed to the Red Fox restaurant which Christopher recommended. It has a play area and movie room for the kids to play in while they are waiting for their food. We then headed back to the Lodge and picked out a movie from their movie collection (Which is free of charge) and watched a movie. On Saturday we got up and had breakfast at the Lodge. They have a very nice light breakfast. We then headed back to Storyland. The kids had a great time. The Bamboo Chute, Polar Coaster, and all their rides were great! And, lunch was a discent price and not over priced at all.The nice thing about staying in Jackson (North of Storyland) is that when it comes time to leave the park if you are heading back to a hotel in North Conway it can take up to an hour to get back to your hotel because of all the people leaving the park. While staying at the Lodge (Or any hotel in Jackson) you only have a two minute drive back. On Sunday morning we headed to the special brunch at the Red Fox ($7.95 all you can eat). It was very good. We then headed to the Jackson falls where Benjamin and Elizabeth played in the water while my wife and I watched. We had a late picnic at the falls before driving home. In all it was a perfect vacation made so by the staff and Belcher family at the Lodge. We recommend this hotel to everyone...especially anyone with families. We are heading back in December for their specail Polar Express package. We can't wait to return!!
