Valley of Fire State Park is about 90 minutes from Las Vegas. It is a beautiful place with unspoiled vistas of red rock formations. It is a drive-thru area, so no walking is necessarily required. There is a visitor center, as well as several areas to get out for minimal hikes to see more natural wonders than can be seen from the road or parking lots. It seems that it would be very hot at the park in the summer! We went in November and the weather was perfect. We spent about 6 hours total. There is a campground, and campers were still using the park.
