My first trip to Curacao and I adore the island, the diving, the weather, the people. I was part of a group on a dive trip that included the hotel as part of the package. This hotel does not live up to the Hilton name. The staff is extremely friendly and seem to really try to meet customer needs. Check-in was fast but the rooms weren't ready- despite it being around 3:30 or 4. My room was very musty smelling and in need of an update. Even the sheets felt damp. The bathroom needs a total redo. One couple in my group had the ceiling in the bathroom fall in on them. They were moved to another room. We never did get an ice bucket (I used my mask case to bring a little ice back to the room.) Service in the dining room and at the snack bar was very slow. Prices were high. I know there's such a thing as "island time" but waiting 25 minutes to get the bill is a bit much. Watch your bill at check-out. Mine had a phone call I did not make and a fee for "poor children" on it. All were taken off my bill when I pointed out the errors.The positives: plenty of towels, bed was very comfortable. All the staff was very friendly. Pool was nice and grounds pretty. The Hilton company needs to get behind the staff and get the place up to speed.
