Piazza Navona

Piazza Navona was one of my favourite Piazza’s we visited, mainly due to the large array of amazing ice cream shops of its side streets.

The Piazza is large and the central area of fountains and statues in surrounded by restaurants and cafes. It is expensive and touristy. All the restaurants are pricey and even if you stop for a drink it can be expensive.

There always seems to be something going on here though. There is often art displayed in the middle and the whole area has a buzz to it day and night. It’s a good place to spend a little time people watching and relaxing with a beer or ice cream. We visited almost every day just for the ice cream. We ventured to the surrounding areas at night to visit the many lively bars and nightclubs. I’d recommend going quite late as the bars don’t fill up till quite late once people have finished eating.
