The rack price of this hotel was out of our consideration initially. That was until we found this deal for a room with semi-private balcony for $435 a night in the middle part of Nov. However, with the hiring of a car (Rs5000), breakfast (Rs1300 for 2), lunch (Rs4000 for 2) and dinner (Rs4000 for 2); the total bill was pretty handsome and we didn't even consume any alcohol or order room service. Yes, we sounded like we were counting pennies but the pennies were well spent - we had a great time. When we went sightseeing, at each stop our driver handed us refreshing cold towels and cold bottle water upon our return. At Taj Mahal, they had a staff (not just the golf cart driver) waited for us to finish and escorted us to the ATM and back to the hotel - it was unnecessary but they did it in a pleasant way and we enjoyed the company. The food! Oh, it was good, especially the dessert. And the chai masala was quite strong - in a good way. We forgot to make dinner reservation at Esphahan upon check in, so they put us at the 9 o'clock seating. However, they call us down around eight and it was just perfect since that gave us time to relax, watch sunset, enjoy the free music performance on the terrace, and shower after a long day of sightseeing.
