L'Auberge -Lacking a few Details

L'auberge was fabulous. The grounds are beautiful, the smell of the restaurant's juniper wood burning in the fireplace and wafting down from the chimney was divine. The relaxing music coming from the trees, the polite and helpful staff all made for a relaxing weekend.

HOWEVER - Just be aware or make a special request. The cottage bathrooms need some sort of small dresser to put your clothing on. We had to place our clothing or robes on the floor or toilet before showering. The sinks are pedastal style which forces a lady to put her toiletries on the floor or balance them along the edge. Oh, and if you have to bring along some feminine hygiene products plan on NOT having a place to put them except on the (I'll give you one guess) the floor or back of the toilet. Once again, a tiny dresser would be nice.

The coffee maker makes TWO cups of coffee, so bring some little filters and your own coffee.

They do not deter screaming children from playing in the nearby creek that have come to eat at their 4 Diamond restaurant. He screeched for an hour. Meditation time blown. Any blood pressure lowering benefits from my massage-ruined.

Water pressure (or serious lack thereof) in the shower makes it IMPOSSIBLE to rinse long hair in a timely manner. Used 10 times the water that I normally would have! Had to get down on my knees and tip my head under the tub spout (I'm no spring chicken) because I felt so guilty about 'wasting' so much water.

The Spa staffers are .....magical. The chef...a genius.
have fun! and watch out for those vortexes!
