Dunn's River Falls- Climb to the Top!

Member Rating 5 out of 5 by HDRyders on March 1, 2008

Everyone must make the climb to the top!!

Things to bring from home:
Watershoes, waterproof camera and a zip-loc baggie or two.

Things to bring:
Towel, singles/money for the market afterwards.

Lockers and watershoes are availabe to rent. Pair up with one of your busmates and share the expense of a locker rental. A DVD is available for purchase (40.00) as well as photos of your climb. We purchased the DVD, I thought it was well worth it.

We started out adventure just past the gates, our tour guide gave us a breifing of our journey . Here we could purchase watershoes and cameras. Off to the locker rental area. I believe it was a $5.00 fee. After putting our belongings in the locker we headed down tot he base of the falls. From here we formed our human chain boy-girl-boy-girl. I personally found it easier to climb, not holding hands. Here we go.... we statred meandering our way up the falls...by the way the water is chilly. As we climbed our tour guides would stop for photo ops. They would also use your camera and take you pictures for you. The tour guides, locker rental guy and the camera guy all expect tips, so bring plenty of ones with you. We chose to visit the falls when there were no cruise ships in port. There was only our "human chain" on the falls as far up or down as we could see. The one tour guide told me that when the ships were in there were as many as 500 people on the falls at one time.
