My wife and I nicknamed this place the "NO-tel" since everything we requested ended up in a "NO" from the staff. If you expect the basics of friendly, attentive and/or personalized service from your hotel staff, find another place to stay; you can do better. There is no way this property deserves AAA Four Diamonds; the rooms are barely three Diamond and the hospitality level is minus a few diamonds. The front desk clerk was disinterested and chatting on the phone with personal affairs every time we went by the front desk. You could tell we were interrupting or bothering her. (A slender brunette with European/British accent just so the bosses know.)However, we didn't meet a single staff member who exhibited a remote sense of hospitality or customer service. Such a uniformly low level of hospitality usually comes from the top down so I don't attribute this to specific individuals as much as I do their training or lack thereof, or too much management "policy". One hostess seemed almost apologetic for her co-worker, though we had said nothing to her.The property itself is very clean, neat and quaint but fairly dated. Our room was spacious, the bed was comfy but the bathroom and vanity were very very tiny with barely enough counter space for minor toiletries. Road noise was high even though we were not on the street so light sleepers should bring earplugs, better yet, spend your money someplace where they care. The lack of a friendly attentive staff makes the rate and this property a very poor value for the money and a deal killer for a return visit from us.
