Unfortunately, the botanical gardens were closed for renovation during most of the time I lived in Cleveland. I didn't actually get to go until a few years later when I returned for a wedding. It was worth the wait, though, because the new and improved gardens are a beautiful oasis in the middle of hectic East Cleveland. The gardens are divided into different themes, such as the Japanese garden and woodland garden. Each flow seamlessly into each other, but each maintains their individuality. Some of the neatest are the gardens that are designed to look like rooms in a house and the indoor rainforest in their greenhouse. The admission is $7.50, and worth every cent. The gardens are one of Cleveland's hidden treasures, and the city is lucky to have such a beautiful jewel.
