You can spend hours for free at Freemont street. The star attraction of Freemont street is the 4 block long overhead video screens that have different shows. The shows start at 6PM (in the winter anyways) and are seen every hour on the hour until midnight. Shows are different each hour and vary from area 51 to lucky Vegas. It really doesn't matter what the show is, it is fascinating to watch. When the show is about to start, all of the lights on the front of the casinos go off, making it easier to see the show. There are a variety of vendors on the street, ranging from jewelry to artwork. My favorite to watch is the aerosol painters. We usually spend at least 15-20 minutes watching them create their pictures. It is amazing how quickly they can create their artwork. The other good thing about Freemont street are the older hotels and casinos. They are a great break from the strip and its prices, especially the drinks. There were a variety of places with 99 cent drink specials. If you go to Las Vegas, you definately cannot miss a show at Freemont street. It is free anyways, so there really is no excuse.
