Frommers says "These 12 rustic cabins are the best lodging deal on Maui. Everyone knows it too - so make your reservations early with State Parks Div of HI Dept of Land & Natural Resources(3-6 months in advance). Cabins are warm, dry; complete with kitchen, living room, bedroom with 2 twin bunk beds, and bathroom with hot shower; bedding linen, towels, dishes, and very basic cooking/eating utensils. Don't expect luxury - this is a step above camping, albeit in a beautiful tropical jungle setting." $45/cabin/night for up to 6 people; 5 night max gives you 2 large windows facing the ocean if in #s 1-6; covered deck with picnic table; kitchenette w/ electric stove top, full size fridge, pots, pans, plastic dishes, cups & utensils for 6; + dish towels & dish soap; long, portable table with 6 plastic lawn chairs for dining/extra seating; small bathroom w/ shower stall & good supply of hot water, bath towel & hand towel for each person on reservation + cloth bathmat; 2 twin beds on rollers in the front/living room area, can double as ‘sofas'. Tips - bring your own towels and twin bed linens if you can. No phone, TV, bedside tables, lamps or fans. Best attitude - assume you are LUXURY camping with perks of a roof, a deck, doors to close to manage mosquitos, a flush toilet, a shower with hot water, a stove AND a full size fridge. Plus you are in PARADISE!!!
