If you are in Nice or plan a trip here and want to experience something different, something your friends will not believe, come to L'Accordeon Dancing. First of all, the dance floor is big and the decor is amazing. The new owner has completely refurbished the place, even discovered old paintings of can-can and the like below the crust of black paint that has been covering it for years! They open at 1pm almost daily and although during this time mostly older folks come to afternoon dance, it pays just to sit there and watch, besides sipping on a cocktail with names like morito or diablo. One feels transferred into a French movie from the 50s. The musicians, Jacky and Mario, are very professional and the repertoire ranges from Piaf and Brel all the way to jazz and hip hop. Evenings they have disco music as well. At ‚ā¨15 admission including a drink it is not expensive and backpackers are welcomed, too. I have been even thinking about renting the place as a set for movie (one can also rent the place for anything from a company feast to just practicing room for musicians), just being there has been very inspiring. There are photos and music samples on the their website too, www.laccordeon-dancing.com
