Costa Vida Vallarta

Best Things Nearby:
The bus stop is across the street.

Best Things About the Resort:
It is out of the way and quiet, and there is a protected swimming area.

Resort Experience:
Now it's called Costa Sur. Don't take the complimentary introduction breakfast (timeshare pitch) that your "concierge" will offer you. You can get $200 to $400 to do the timeshare presentation if you haggle with the street sellers. It's off the beaten path, so you take a bus into the old town, but being in the old town was a plus in our books, as it was nice and quiet.

The bar staff will remember your room number before you have a chance to forget it drinking the CostaVida Special. There is an older crowd, as many people there were owners and have been going for 10 to 20 years. It has four computers for guest use, which were always busy, but there is a 15-minute courtesy time limit per visit.
