Best Things About the Resort:
It has a beautiful setting and nice amenities. It is also far enough away from the city for peace and quiet, yet only 40 mins. to major tourist sites in St. Louis. For us, since we live close, it is convenient to come downfor a quick getaway, or just to use the facilities.

Resort Experience:
Staying at Timber Creek is a nice experience. The kitchen is well-equipped (however no garbage disposal) and the beds are comfortable. The unit is a two-bedroom lockout so there is a second mini kitchen in the second bedroom.(There are also 2 separate furnace/air conditioners as well!) This was a big help when we were doing a large family gathering. We had two stoves and two microwaves. The master bath has a large jacuzzi and the second full bathroom has a roomy shower. There are two TV''s, with the one in the living room having a built in VCR. The table seats 4 and there is a small breakfast bar with two bar stools as well. On the balcony there is a nice round wooden picnic table with 4 chairs.

There is a small five-hole golf course, par 3 executive level that is free. The cleverly designed mini golf course is free. You can rent canoes and other boats at a nominal cost. They have several outdoor pavilions that can be used for major events. There is a outdoor pool which I understand is to be enclosed this fall, and a couple of tennis courts. There is a nice game room with video games as well as pool and air hockey. A modern gym and work out room is also available with quite a few piece of equipment. The resort also has archery, well marked and easy to follow nature trails and has had horses in the past.

One other thing this resort has is a large area of hook ups for RV''s. You can stay up to 2 weeks at a time. There is a laundry/shower facility for the RV area. There is also a Wilderness Camping area with platforms for tents and fire pits.

We''ve been to Timber Creek often as it is only about 50 minutes from our house. We used it for a 2000 New Year''s Eve party, a weekend getaway, a place for out of town friends to stay, etc. The only potentially negative thing I can say concerns children. Timber Creek advertises itself as a safe place for children and we have discovered if you are there at times school is not is session there will be a lot of unsupervised youngsters of all ages running around. We have had a 5-6 yr. old stand about 6 inches from our table and watch us eat. So, if you think that would be a bit irksome come to Timber Creek when school is in session.
