Best Things Nearby:
John Pennekamp State park for snorkeling. The Cuban restaurant next door to the resort is very good!

Best Things About the Resort:
Screened in balcony, so can guests can enjoy being outside without battling the mosquitos.

Resort Experience:
Our first impression of the resort was the flooded parking lot - a huge puddle which was there all week. Water was sometimes up to 6 inches deep. Depending where you are able to park, you will probably have to walk through it and get your shoes wet! Seems like if they cared about their guests, they would fix this problem.

The rooms are spacious except for the small bathrooms. Some of the dishes in the cabinet were dirty - an unpleasant discovery. The sofa and chair in the living room are upholstered in a plastic-backed fabric which gets very uncomfortable in the heat and humidity. Room air conditioners keep the rooms comfortable.

Beware of mosquitos when you go outside - they are vicious. Even a walk to the parking lot and loading a few things in the car results in a mosquito attack, and a car full of mosquitos.

Overall we enjoyed our trip to the Keys, but we could definitely do without the mosquitos. As for the resort, the staff was always friendly and helpful, but we don't intend to stay at another resort without one of the higher ratings (Gold Crown, International Rating, etc.)
