Best Things About the Resort:
I paid a visit to WorldMark Orlando in February 2003 for a feature article in the WorldMark owners' magazine. I took along my spouse and six-month-old son, and we stayed in a two-bedroom unit on the fourth floor of the blue Gables building. The resort was mostly empty as it was transitioning from its former ownership to WorldMark. WorldMark owners could not yet use the resort, and a few Kingstown Reef owners and Crowne Plaza hotel guests were our only neighbors.

Resort Experience:
The pool area is impressive and the two hot tubs very nice. The clubhouse has a restaurant that works okay if you don't want to go out, but the bar is a must-do. It's extremely casual, with paddle fans spinning on the ceiling and a very friendly wait staff who don't like seeing your glass empty.

The real draw is that the resort is a great homebase from which to do Disney, SeaWorld and Universal. It's really right in the middle of all of them, and from the upper floors looking southwest you actually can see the fireworks over Epcot at sundown. The Sheraton Vistana and Marriott Vacation Club are across the street--both have nice pools you can sneak into pretty easily. The Vistana's is especially cool.
