Best Things Nearby:
Downtown Kona is within walking distance if you are fit, otherwise a short drive. There are also a couple of small beaches that are nearby.

Best Things About the Resort:
The atmosphere is one of the best parts of the timeshare. It is fairly new, so all of the amenities are in excellent shape. The location near Kona is great, plus you can get to the volcanos or Hilo fairly easily if you rent a car.

Resort Experience:
The timeshare is modeled after an old Polynesian village. The outside of the buildings look like huts with a grass roof and carved tiki wood decorations. The insides continue the theme, but have all of the modern amenities that you would expect. The service was excellent after we checked in. However, I had some problems getting in at 9pm as they didn't have my reservation. I had called the reservations company two weeks before and they assured me that I was confirmed. When I got there, they had no record of me. Fortunately, they were able to give us a room that was assigned to someone else who was expected to arrive the next day. The manager was very professional and we did not have any problems after that.

The activities desk was very helpful in pointing out good places to go and setting up tours like whale watching, and we got discounted tickets to a luau. They also have a party each week where they make mai tais, serve pizza, and give hula lessons.

The resort is still under construction and probably will be for a while, so some of the amenities are not yet available. However, we were never disturbed by construction noises.
