Best Things Nearby:
Rockland Lighthouse and breakwater, Owl Head Lighthouse, Camden, and the Banded Galway Cows. Downtown Rockland.

Best Things About the Resort:
The entrance to the Rockland Breakwater Light is on site with easy access to the striking rock formation that juts out almost one mile into Rockland Harbor with a brick lighthouse on the end. You can walk all the way out to the end on the flat manmade rock breakwater to the lighthouse. The view is wonderful you are close to the passing ferryboats that go out Vinalhaven. Across the harbor is Owls Head Lighthouse. If you look inland, you will have a great view of the waterfront of Rockland Maine. Wear good walking shoes as the rocks can be slippery.

Resort Experience:
The Samoset is Gold Crown and has 72 timeshare units, all with private balconies or patios, with spectacular ocean views. We had a one bedroom unit that had a kitchen area with microwave oven, dining/living area with sofa bed, master suite and full bathroom. The d├ęcor is very nice, downeast Maine style. Upon entering the unit everything was clean and had a clean smell, everything is well maintained, housekeeping is great.

Dining at the Samoset at Marcel's is a great experience, or you may have a casual lunch at the Breakwater Cafe or Clubhouse Grille.
