Hilton Vienna Danube

I can't say there is much reason for me to recommend this hotel except that we were able to get a room for free for 3 nights using Hilton Honors points. It wasn't bad or anything, and the rooms were pleasant and clean. But it is certainly down near the bottom rung of any Hilton I've ever stayed at, and not quite the quality one would expect from the brand. Again, nothing really wrong with it, but the whole hotel was rather bland. It is right along the Danube, and there is one deck overlooking the river, but otherwise, it doesn't capitalize on a fairly pleasant location at all (we were there in March, when it was fairly cool, so maybe they do use the outdoors more in the summer).

It is inconveniently located 20-30 minutes away from the city center. They do provide a free shuttle between it and the mid-town Hilton which worked out OK for us, but the length of the commute made it impractical to go into the center, return to the hotel room, then go back out in the evening. It was also pretty difficult to reach using public transportation. It might be a better place to base yourself from if you had a car, but we didn't.
