The Strand Palace was not quite a palace, but it did offer us a great location with fairly clean rooms and a buffet, London-style (minimal). My room was clean and quiet, and the bellhop was helpful holding our bags in a storage facility while we explored the city before checking in. This was a typical moderately priced European hotel with a so-so bed and minimal decorations. It was a great place to stay because of the central location. We were close to the Covent Garden Tube stop (or the Charing Cross one) and near the National Gallery as well as Trafalgar Square.
