This is a beautiful ski in and ski out resort hotel, located in the heart of Vail Village. It reminded us of a quaint Bavarian hotel, but with all the amenities you come accustomed to in highend resorts. The rooms were very comfortable and well appointed, our bathroom was a bit small but very functional. The staff was attentive, and they paid specific attention to all the small details. Once you understand the lay out and all the amenities of the hotel, you will not need a car, you can walk to every thing from fine dining to après ski partying. The bar at The Lodge at Vail was nice, but too quiet for après ski fun, no problem, with Vail Village less than a hundred yards away. The food at the hotel was fantastic. They have both the fine dining of The Wildflower (rated very good to excellent in all categories by Zagats) and breakfast/lunch at the Cucina Rustico with their fabulous buffet.
