Hotel Cimabue

Hotel Cimabue is a budget- to moderate-style hotel that felt more like a bed-and-breakfast. We spent 80€ per night for a double room. The one thing that made this hotel stand out from the rest of our budget-style accommodations were the extremely friendly hosts. The owner, who I believe is from Belgium, spoke perfect English and was very helpful and welcoming. Throughout our stay, she helped us plan activities and gave us several recommendations to enjoy our stay in Florence.

Our room was quite large, with very high ceilings. The bathroom was a decent size, but the stand-up shower was rather small - our one main frustration throughout Europe! Overall, the room was clean, comfortable, and functional.

The location of the hotel was somewhat tucked out of the way. It was a good 20-minute walk to the city center, but the hotel could always call a taxi, which normally would arrive within 5 to 10 minutes.

We really enjoyed the deluxe continental breakfast that was included in the room rate. The breakfast room was very cute and cozy, reminiscent of a small café. It also contained a well-stocked bar where we could enjoy an afternoon cocktail.

Hotel Cimabue is a comfortable and friendly-staffed hotel that is perfect for budget-minded travelers.
