Hotel Muguet

Mom and I spent some time on the internet searching for the perfect place. We had a list of needs: 7th district, central location, air conditioning, private bathroom, and at least a two-star. We found the Hotel Muguet and reserved through the internet.

From the airport we hopped into a shuttle van that had a little trouble finding the place but dropped us right at the front door. Rue Chevert is a small street that many would miss which means that there was little noise and much privacy. We had read that Rue Cler was a good place for food and great for the morning market...and to our delight we discovered that this was only two blocks away from our hotel. Every morning, we would wake up and have coffee in Rue Cler.

The hotel was very comfortable yet small as everything is in Paris. The bathroom was clean and new and every time I walked into our room it smelled of grapefruits. The hotel provided a safe place to stay and a very friendly staff. Mom and I were very proud of ourselves for finding such a wonderful place.

Close to the subway, close to the Eiffel tower, close to Invalides, and now close to our hearts. I would highly recommend this place.

TIP: They say that some rooms have a view of the Eiffel tower so you might want to ask for a room with a view. Our room overlooked some wonderful, plain grey buildings so we didn't spend a lot of time looking out the window.

They served breakfast in the morning in the front lobby/restaurant room or in the garden when the weather is nice. Mom and I never had breakfast there because she wanted to try all the pastry shops around the neighborhood. But their breakfast had coffee/tea, bread, croissant, and cereal.

It doesn't seem like there is much around the hotel but at the end of the alleyway you will find a laundry mat and a small grocery store. If you want to get to Rue Cler then walk out of the hotel and to your left. Take a right at the first small alleyway. That will get you to a main street, cross that street and walk to your next available street on your right...that will be Rue Cler.
