The Salishan

We stayed in a traditional room. The information can be found online.

We had a nice side view of the driving range, which had large trees on the opposite side. It looked like a forest when we looked out of our balcony. The balcony had two nice rocking chairs with a table. It was rainy when we were there, so we didn't sit out there very much.

We loooved the beds. They were so soft and puffy. There were two layers of sheets, then a feather pad, then a nice fluffy down comforter on top. Each bed was well equiped with five very full pillows, including one that was cylindrical. My husband brought extra pillows, since he usually gets only one, since our kids use most of them. I usually put them on the edges so they don't go rolling off the bed. He didn't use any of his extra pillows.

The room was clean but seemed to need a little maintenance attention. The wallpaper in the bathroom under the sink was peeling, and the screen door to the balcony was not working properly. The bathroom had two showerheads, which was pretty handy when the kids and I were rinsing off after the pool.

There is a walking path to the beach, which we didn't go on because of the distance. We drove over Hwy 101 and went into the locked Salishan community area and drove right up to the beach. There is information at the front and in the literature about how to get over to the beach area. The beach was great. It was not crowded at all and very private. The kids were able to play in the sand and enjoy themselves. We brought a loaf of bread to feed the seaguls. The water was freezing and no one swam.

I would definitely recommend the Salishan because of the private beach access, proximity to the aquarium and Lincoln City, and the beds.
