This is a large, modern business hotel - in fact, from the outside it is a Soviet-era eyesore. Being a "cute, historic, B&B" type, I was disappointed when I first saw this hotel. However, the Marriott completely won me over by day 2 of my stay. It is built in such a way that every room has a view and balcony overlooking the Danube, and the conference rooms have glass walls - one can see the prime sites of Budapest without ever leaving the hotel! Rooms are large and comfortable, with superb beds and bedding, and the service was exemplary. Compared to other business-class hotels I felt it had more personality and warmth, perhaps because of the way it brings the city right into the hotel - a real treat for business travellers who may not have much time to "see the sights". It also had an above-average fitness facility and the ultimate location central to shopping, dining and sightseeing.
