The Inn at Heavenly

I love Lake Tahoe and wanted a place to stay that was a bit more cozy and interesting than one of the casino hotels. After searching through, I found a place that got my interest - Inn At Heavenly. The Inn at Heavenly is a cluster of log cabins set on 2 acres on Ski Run Boulevard, which is one of the main ways to get up to Heavenly ski area. It is readily handy to both the slopes and to the nightlife that Stateline has to offer. They offer five private cabins - some with private hot tubs ($165 to $385+/night) and 14 rooms ($135 to $175+/night), all decorated in mountain themes with river rock gas fireplaces, as well as kitchenettes with a microwave, refrigerator, and coffeemaker; cable TV and VCRs are available in all rooms as well, with free video use. They offer a 10% discount to AAA members, senior citizens, and AARP members, but they do also occasionally offer good package deals, such as ski or golf packages. The Inn at Heavenly is also dog-friendly, not only having its own resident pooch, but welcoming yours as well!

I'd arrived in the evening, driving from Reno in minor snow squalls. The Inn looked so warm and inviting as I pulled into the parking lot that I could not wait to get to my room. The staff was very welcoming, letting me know that breakfast was served in the Gathering Room in the morning and about the policies for the spa room.

I had chosen the "Bears Den" room, and I was happy I had - it had a king-size bed and fireplace, with a bear theme throughout - there are even stone bear paw marks in the fireplace design. The bed was wonderfully comfortable and the room cozy and romantic. In the morning, it was very relaxing to join other guests in the Gathering Room for breakfast. And best of all was, after a long day of skiing, to come back to have a reserved hour in the spa room (no extra charge) to use the whirlpool, sauna, and steam bath, and to enjoy the wine happy hour in the Gathering Room.

I definitely look forward to staying at the Inn at Heavenly again, when my travels are fortuitous enough to bring me back to Tahoe!
