What a find! This hostel is located in a building on lighthouse grounds. It was the first hostel experience for my mother and my niece. They LOVED it! We shared a public dorm room. Why? It was cheaper than going private, yet there were only three beds in the room! PERFECT.

The managers were SUPER friendly and helpful. The views of the ocean were BREATHTAKING! There is a path to a small private beach (NO swimming! Don't be stupid.) There is a lockout from 10am-4:30pm but you're close to so much, including San Francisco and Santa Cruz. There is a curfew of 11pm, too. No worries! They have a nice common room with a selection of books and board games. There is a kitchen for your use. The only downside I found was the lack of bathrooms. There are 35 beds but I found only two single bathrooms. Each had a shower. Families are welcome, too, even babies, but they need to be in a private room. As for private rooms, you could definitely make it a romantic stay. Those rooms have ocean views/sounds.
