Royal Inca I

I had a reservation at the Royal Inca II for my first night in town. When I arrived at the airport in Cuzco, Lorenzo was waiting to take me to the hotel. He explained that since it was the low season, we had been upgraded to the Royal Inca I. I had prepaid $65 for Royal Inca II. The Royal Inca I is the main hotel, and it's beatiful. Inside is a gorgeous courtyard with hanging ferns and a huge mosaic on one wall. They let us stay the next night for the same price, although I think I could have got it cheaper if I hadn't had a reservation. The room had cable tv and in room bath with hot water all the time. The room was very cozy with a window that opened up to the courtyard. I felt very safe and had to show my key to getin after dark. Around town you can find accomodations for as little as $5/night, if that's what you want. You may not feel safe leaving your things in these places or even sleeping with both eyes closed. Wait, it's two years later and I just looked at the brochure again and I did stay at the Royal Inka II, this whole time I was confused. See
