Once the most important of the five missions, the mission of Nestra Senor de la Purisima Concepcion housed the president of the missions - the highest ranking priest in the area. From here he made decisions for the running and the unity of the San Antonio missions.
This mission is in desperate need of renovations and some are already under progress. With the murals painted into the walls you see both the Indian and the later German influence of this area.
The Roman Catholic church maintains a small parish here with services held at 10:30 on Sundays.
Park Services has a small gift shop here with a small but interesting collection of bilinqual books of the area.
There is no charge for the mission. Gates close at 5pm.
