For people who want to disconnect from the high-stress of Washingtonian life or are traveling to the area, this is a must-see on any itinerary as far as any visit is concerned. One can find peace and quiet on most weekdays in the fall season, as well as plenty of empty park benches on which to exchange top -ecret science information (thought I was going to say spy stuff, right??) with other scientists looking for peace and quiet.Okay, in all likelihood, you may run into people who work in government, from interns to congresspeople to... gulp, spies!! Who knows?? This town has all of that, and the National Mall is no exception to the kind of people you can run into in DC, with one exception... it's pretty darn quiet here!
