Inter-Island Helicopter Tour

Member Rating 5 out of 5 by Tsakiyama on September 7, 2005

We had a rain-forest landing, picnic, and dip in a waterfall tour. The five-seat helicopter flies with no doors (unless you request otherwise), allowing fantastic picture-taking from the outside front and both back seats. The middle front, although the views are GREAT, really doesn't work for pictures.

After touring the island with minimal narration, the landing in the rain forest is breathtaking. Following a very short walk to a small picnic area, you're invited to take dip in the pool of the waterfall. No else is around!!!!!

This tour is an adventure. It is pricey ($300 per person), but the landing and waterfall are extraordinary. The air tour was about an hour, and the time at the waterfall was just about the same. It is very windy and somewhat cold in the helicopter with the doors off. They strongly suggest long pants and windbreakers.

Those looking for the best air tour and narration might do better with Jack Harter's 90-minute air tour out of Lihue. But, we thought that this was the highlight of this trip to Kauai.

Those ready for something that might raise your pulse a bit should look into this tour.
