We had a half day to kill and wanted to avoid the crowds (and prices) of Disney and Universal, so we decided to check out Wonderworks, and boy, are we glad we did! It cost about $16 (adult regular price) to get in before our $2-off coupon and we had an entire afternoon of fun and entertainment. We didn't have any kids with us and are both 30-something and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves. However, all the kids around seemed to be really enjoying themselves also.

It's hard to explain what this place is, but I'll give it a try. First of all, the building is "upside down," which is interesting in itself. The building is filled with all types of fun and interesting educational interactive displays. I'll just give an example of some of the ones that stood out: a giant bubble-making machine, an earthquake simulator, a bed of nails that you can lay on (I had on a thin shirt and this one hurt just a tiny bit), a bunch of different types of simulation games, a lot of informational games and quizzes about earth and science (they are all very fun and interesting), a roller-coaster simulator, and SO much more. There were so many things that it's overwhelming to try to describe them. The nice thing is that there are so many different interactive displays that you can spend your time on the ones that interest you. It's somewhat like an exploratorium, only a little less scientific and more fun and interesting. I would love to go back and visit if we are back in Orlando!
