St. Louis Union Station

This was once the largest passenger rail station in the world. Now it’s a mall and hotel. Whether you’re interested in history or are just here to shop, the station is the place to be. I really enjoyed following the self-guided tour of the station (pick up a brochure at the information desk or just go find the numbered stations on your own.) At each numbered spot on the tour is an exhibit detailing some aspect of the old railroad station, such as the passenger waiting area or architectural features. Pictures give you an idea of what was once here, and railroad memorabilia makes you wish you could buy a ticket on one of the grand trains heading to the new, adventurous West.
