A winter wonderland. Although the resort is small and a bit isolated, the scenery and activities make this resort in Lapland a must. Apart from skiing in the best snow conditions I have ever experienced, with no crowds whatsoever, you can run a husky dog-sled team, go ice fishing on a frozen lake, go on a snowmobile safari (with the opportunity to cross over into Russia) and pet and feed reindeer. All this in a place where the snow-covered scenery has to be seen to be believed.

And it doesn't stop at night either--some of the trails are floodlit until about 9-10pm, and you may even get a spectacular show of Northern Lights. If you are looking for a fantastic, off the beaten track experience, this is the place to go. However, it is COLD! It fell to -30C when we were there. This doesn't feel as cold as it sounds though and, if you wrap up warm, you will experience a true winter wonderland.
