This is within walking distance of the port. It was the culmination of our walk around Old San Juan. I love the idea of city walls, so it was neat to see them near the sea. It is an interesting fort that was built with multiple stages, beginning in the 1500s. It reminded me of St. Augustine in Florida. We got to explore everywhere. It is right up against the water, which is incredible, and offers some great views of the water. There were a lot of people flying kites in the area, and an interesting cemetery, which looks like it is one high tide away from being swept out to see. I don't know much about the history of Puerto Rico, but it was well worth the admission fare (around $3).
