Margaritaville

Over spring break this past year, I went with two of my friends to Vegas. One night we just finished our roller coaster ride atop the Stratosphere and were getting hungry. I'd remember seeing the Margaritaville sign outside the Flamingo hotel and suggested that we eat there. When we walked in,  the hostess asked us if we wanted to eat inside or on the patio. It was warm out, so we opted for the patio. On the third floor is a small deck/patio that feels like a cabana in some tropical destination: wood floors, margaritas, palm trees, straw, and heaters. It was great. We took a seat and then noticed the guy with the guitar playing on a tiny stage. He was playing a Dave Matthews Band cover.

Our margaritas arrived, and as we sipped them, listening to the awesome live music, I noticed the view. Across the street was Caesar's Palace. From the third floor it looked different from the street and was awesome. Being from Ohio, where it's cold, I was loving the warm tropical environment that was on that patio. The guy playing the guitar came over and talked to us after his show because we were the only ones left! Turns out he is from Ohio, too, but relocated to work on his music career. I bought a CD (it's awesome). His website is nickmotil.com.

Overall, the experience couldn't be beat because of the great atmosphere, good drinks, great music, and spectacular view.
