Betsy Ross's House

Betsy Ross, as history tells, made the first flag of the United States of America. That claim is now contested, but if you're in Philly, this is a nice place to go if you have a spare hour. Thank goodness it's air-conditioned, because in the summer, it's HOT! The Betsy Ross House is very different from most historical sites. The entire house is preserved with the same furniture and decor as when good ole Betsy lived here. All the rooms are encased, and you take a walking tour inside. Creep factor - she's buried outside, and tourists toss pennies on her grave for good luck. I never, ever understood this.
