Ben & Jerry's

No visit to this area would be complete without a trip to the Ben & Jerry’s ice cream factory on Route 100 in Waterbury. It was very fun and entertaining for our entire group. The 30-minute tour is a must, and not only because there are two free samples at the end. Our guide was highly entertaining, as I imagine they all are. I recommend planning this during nice weather, since on the grounds at the time were booths for free temporary tattoos, postcards, a take-your-picture behind the cutout, and a playground for kids with pent-up energy following the tour and parents spending too much time in the very large and engaging retail shop. We left after buying a stuffed cow, several magnets (including the "Chubby Hubby" ice cream one), pins, and some other stuff which is already lost.

Cost: Tour is $3 per adult, children under 12 are free.
