Fairwinds Catamaran Snorkel trip

Now, this is a must-do if you're around Kona. A friendly crew on a well-maintained catamaran takes you down to the marine sanctuary at Kealakekua Bay. We've gone back and done this trip 10 times over the years and have never been disappointed. They offer good (though not cheap) mai tais and local beer. The barbeque lunch is good and generous and has a garden burger option as well as burgers and hot dogs with salad and chips. Sodas are free during lunch, though they do charge for them during the rest of the trip. There are good freshwater showers, and the snorkel gear seems to be in good shape. There are plenty of water toys for those a little timid about snorkeling. There is snuba and scuba for those so inclined, too.
