Kind of like Alta, everything you have heard about Squaw Valley is true. While a little crowded, it is big enough to find some acres for yourself. KT-22 offers some incredible terrain, and you never have to take the same run down. One of the best parts about the lift to KT-22 is that you can see nearly all of the runs/lines down the peak. Watch where others are venturing off to, find some hidden chutes, etc. If you want to avoid the crowds, head off to Granite Chief Peak, like we did. It's a kind of out-of-the-way peak on the upper mountain, off to the right, with some very nice blue cruisers and some diamond and tree skiing mixed in.
Overall, this is an excellent resort, ranked #4 on my list of ski areas in the west where I've skied.
