Two fantastic museums joined together, the Museum of Scotland is a chronological journey through Scottish history, starting at the bottom floor. The Lewis Chessmen are one of the best displays. They usually have special exhibits on and they tend to be fantastic as well. The Museum of Scotland Tower Restaurant is meant to be very good, though I didn't eat there myself.
