The art galleries of Canyon Road are transformed into a magical Christmas Eve caroling extravaganza. If you are lucky enough to hit Santa Fe on Christmas Eve, plan on strolling though the plaza and nearby streets. Many southwestern Christmas traditions are highlighted in this one event. Buildings and streets are lined with thousands of farolitos luminaries (a paper bag with sand in the base to support a burning candle), a larger than life ice-sculpture of Santa and his reindeer, small wood-burning fires surrounded by various musical groups from guitar to church choirs, hot cider and cocoa is sold, and a million people to meander amongst. Don't forget to admire the southwestern art in the galleries while in the Christmas spirit.
