Plantin Moretus Museum: bookshop and corrector's

The interior is magnificient. In this house, famous humanists dwelled around. Vesalius was one of them. It was also a dangerous time for the Spanish were here to chase every one out that was not catolic! All protestants and other religions were expelled, some books were banned.

Very secretly however the Moretus family did print so called "anti-catholic" pamphlets or papers. It was a hard time to survive in the way of not getting caught, imprisoned or worse: executed.
