Museum Plantin Moretus is the previous printing and bookselling house of the family Plantin and Moretus who kept this business for over 3 generations. Plantin moved from the present Northern part of France to settle in Antwerp and started an printing business in the 16the (golden) century. When Belgium was under Spanish rule, at least 1/3 rd of the worlds printed books derived from the machines in this museum.

The house, store and printing rooms are now turned in to a magnificent museum. There is possiblity to rent an audiophone and to view an introduction movie. If you want it in a different language then Flemish, you ought to ask at the desk to adjust the language.
