Louisiana Superdome

The Supredome is home to the Sugar Bowl. And by now you'd think they would be ready to handle the crowd. First, from the parking lot for buses, we were guided by a cop to the middle of a parking ramp up 2 flights of stairs to get into the dome. It was the strangest thing - like there was no normal entrance from ground level.

Then at the beginning of the second 1/2 of the game, all we wanted was a diet coke in a cup of ice. The line, while not very long took forever!! The service was sooooo darn slow. Then we tried 5 other vendor stands. Three had no diet coke, 1 had no ice. Finally the stand that did have the diet coke and ice, did not have lids or straws for the cups!

We had 600 level seats. The risers on the stairs were extra tall and there were a lot of old-timers in our group. It was difficult for me to negotiate those steps up to row 24. Imagine an old guy with a bum knee or hip replacement or even a little general dizziness. It was BAD. There was no leg room between the seats and I was huffing and puffing when I finally sat down.

Next year I'm hoping for the Fiesta Bowl! I feel sorry for the Super Bowl attendees this place was a pain in my you-know-what.
