Okay, visiting a cemetery might not be what you had in mind for your vacation, but Recoleta Cemetery merits your attention. While looking for the tomb of Eva Peron, take time to notice the splendid mausoleums, decorated with the finest sculpture in the city and representing every architectural style imaginable. It’s the final resting-place for Argentina’s elite and the most sought after land in the city. The names will sound familiar even if you’re not an Argentine history buff. You’ll see the same ones on streets around the city. Art and culture aside, sometimes it’s nice to have a walk there simply for a tranquil break from city noise.
