Shark Valley

If you take 8th Street West in Miami, this street turns into Tamiami Trail. On the left hand side you will find the entrance to Shark Valley, one of the three official entrance to the Everglades National Park. Here you can go biking or take a tram to see more of the Everglades. If you go biking, make sure that you take lots of water with you and that you are armed with bug repellent. You can assured though that you will enjoy the ride. Half way of the loop there is a watch tower which provides a nice break on a hot day.

One advise: don't teach your kid how to ride a bike here! A few years ago some parents thought the straight path was ideal for some riding lessons for their son. The child rode into the water and landed on top of an alligator who bit him!
