Minibus tour

The tour guides give you a short humorous history of 'the rock'. Our guide was of Spanish origin and spoke with a British accent. For those who don't know, Gibraltar is attached to Southern Spain but is controlled by Great Britain for military reasons. This has led to some interesting confrontations between the two countries. Mail from Gibraltar to a site in Spain a mile away must go through Britain first. Many tourists need a visa in addition to their passport or they cannot go to Gibraltar.

St. Michaels caves is a separate tour which is discussed in an attached activity journal. The Barbary Apes were brought to the island and have thrived. They are used as a cheap tourist attraction, but were entertaining. More detail in the attached activity journal.
